Who Can Be Considered Jewish? Understanding the Meaning of “Yahud” and “Yahudi”?

There are a lot of theories, congregations and scriptures which describes the Jewish religion. I want to explain it on a easy way. This is only my opinion and my experience but also what my heart is telling me.

First of all, it should be said that many things in history — as well as in modern life — can be better understood by translating words from their original language. Often, concepts are not as complicated as we sometimes think.

The word root of “Jew” is commonly connected to the Hebrew term Yahud or Yehudi. In a spiritual interpretation, this can be understood as someone who receives the hand, help, guidance, or light of God. In this sense, a Yahudi is a person who is guided by God.

If you are at a stage in life where you pray sincerely, repent, and continually ask God for help — and you feel that your prayers are heard and that you are being guided — you may consider yourself someone who is led by God. From this spiritual perspective, such a person could be described as a Yahudi, or Jew, meaning someone who walks under divine guidance.
